Providing Animals with Support

2009 Stats are in!!

PAWS  saved the lives of 184 dogs and 285 cats this past year, totaling 469 animals which have been re-homed. As of 12/31/09, we still had 9 dogs and 32 cats in foster and/or at our adoption center, which puts us at 510 animals saved in 2009!!!!!

Our public low-cost spay/neuter program, which we started in mid-August, allowed 92 dogs and 88 cats to get altered at a greatly reduced rate. We helped the public alter their pets which may have otherwise reproduced. This is in itself, the single most effective way to decrease overpopulation of pets and decrease the euthanasia rates at the shelters. We have applied for more grant monies to help us continue this most important program in 2010. We hope to be able to offer even better rates if the monies come through. — Carol Peckham, P.A.W.S. President

PAWS Announces New Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program!

Beginning August 17, P.A.W.S. will be offering a low cost spay/neuter program to the public. There are no restrictions, but we hope that people with a good income will not apply and let the other less fortunate pet-owners take advantage of this program. The cost for dogs is $50 and $40 for cats (extra fee for dogs over 60 lbs, extra fee if animal is in heat or pregnant). All owners must have proof of their pets rabies and distemper vaccines. If they are not current on vaccines, they can be vaccinated on the day of their appointment at the owners expense.

For more information or to make an appointment, please call the P.A.W.S. office at 435-688-9748. Please take advantage of these low prices so that you can be part of the solution and not part of the problem of pet overpopulation! Remember this program is open to the public…no rescue groups or ferals please!
